Overlay Mode
The overlay provides an always-visible transcription window that stays on top of other applications.
Overview
The overlay is a floating window that shows your transcribed text in real-time. It's useful when you want to review text before inserting it, or when working with applications that don't support direct text insertion.
Using the Overlay
- Enable continuous mode in Settings
- Hold
Ctrl+Alt+Spaceto start dictation - Speak to see transcription appear in the overlay
- Release the hotkey to confirm and insert text
- Press
Escapeto discard
Overlay Features
- Real-time transcription: See text as you speak
- Edit before inserting: Review and confirm before pasting
- Always on top: Stays visible above other windows
- Draggable: Position anywhere on screen
Customizing the Overlay
In Settings > Overlay:
- Position: Drag the overlay or set coordinates
- Size: Resize by dragging corners
- Opacity: Adjust transparency
- Font size: Make text larger or smaller
Tips
- Pin the overlay to a corner of your screen for quick reference
- Use it alongside reference documents when transcribing
- The overlay remembers its position between sessions
