Batch Transcription
Batch transcription allows you to transcribe audio and video files.
Overview
Instead of real-time dictation, batch transcription processes pre-recorded files. This is useful for:
- Transcribing meeting recordings
- Converting interviews to text
- Processing podcast episodes
- Archiving audio content
Supported Formats
QuasarSpeak can transcribe these formats:
Audio:
- MP3
- WAV
- M4A
- FLAC
- OGG
Video:
- MP4
- MKV
- WebM
Note: Video transcription requires FFmpeg to be installed on your system.
How to Use
Single File
- Open QuasarSpeak settings (right-click tray icon)
- Go to Transcribe Audio
- Click Browse or drag and drop a file
- Select your output format
- Click Start Transcription
Multiple Files
- Drag and drop multiple files into the transcription window
- Configure output settings for all files
- Process files sequentially in queue
Output Formats

Settings
- Language: Auto-detect or specify the spoken language
- Model: Choose accuracy vs. speed
- Timestamps: Include or exclude timing information
Tips
- Use larger models (medium, large) for better accuracy on important recordings
- Process large files overnight
- Verify language selection for non-English content
- Keep source files organized with output files
File Length Limits
QuasarSpeak can transcribe files up to 90 minutes in length. For longer recordings, consider splitting them into smaller segments.
