Batch Transcription

Batch transcription allows you to transcribe audio and video files.

Overview

Instead of real-time dictation, batch transcription processes pre-recorded files. This is useful for:

  • Transcribing meeting recordings
  • Converting interviews to text
  • Processing podcast episodes
  • Archiving audio content

Supported Formats

QuasarSpeak can transcribe these formats:

Audio:

  • MP3
  • WAV
  • M4A
  • FLAC
  • OGG

Video:

  • MP4
  • MKV
  • WebM

Note: Video transcription requires FFmpeg to be installed on your system.

Settings

  • Language: Auto-detect or specify the spoken language
  • Model: Choose accuracy vs. speed
  • Timestamps: Include or exclude timing information

Tips

  • Use larger models (medium, large) for better accuracy on important recordings
  • Process large files overnight
  • Verify language selection for non-English content
  • Keep source files organized with output files

File Length Limits

QuasarSpeak can transcribe files up to 90 minutes in length. For longer recordings, consider splitting them into smaller segments.
